Gallo scores 26, leads Coppin men over UMES

Tony Gallo scored a career-high 26 points and Coppin State earned its first road win, 77-68 over UMES on Saturday. Gallo went 8-for-14 from the field and 8-for-11 from the line. The Eagles (8-9, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) made 19 of 26 free throws in the second half to erase a nine-point deficit.

Hillary Haley led UMES with 23 points.

Delaware State 70, Morgan State 65: Jay Threat hit two free throws and Casey Walker sank a 3-pointer to lift the Hornets (8-9, 4-1 MEAC) over the Bears (8-8, 4-1). The loss ended Morgan's win streak at three games. Justin Black had 14 points for Morgan State.

Navy 85, Army 81: Jordan Sugars had 25 points and O.J. Avworo hit four free throws in the final minute to lift the visiting Mids (6-15, 1-4 Patriot League) over the Black Knights (10-10, 2-3). Navy trailed by as many as 11 in the first half before opening the second half with an 11-0 run.

Loyola 75, Marist 69: Robert Olson scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead the visiting Greyhounds (10-9, 6-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) past the Red Foxes (4-17, 3-6). Loyola led 40-28 at halftime, in its sixth straight win over the Red Foxes.

UNC-Wilmington 66, Towson 60: The visiting Tigers (4-14, 0-8 Colonial Athletic Association) led 34-33, but fell behind for good early in the second half. Braxton Dupree had 14 points for Towson.

Mount St. Mary's 72, Quinnipiac 63: Shawn Atupem had 17 points and recorded his 1,000th career point for host Mount (7-14, 5-3 Northeast Conference). Mount St. Mary's won its third-straight and is in a four-way tie for second place.

Bowie State 101, Chowan 83: Eric Vann had 22 points and Byron Westmorland had 20 to power the host Bulldogs (11-3, 6-1 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) past the Braves (1-14, 0-7).

Dickinson 59, Johns Hopkins 48: The host Red Devils (8-9, 6-4 Centennial) ended a 12-game losing streak. Connor McCarty had 10 points for Hopkins.

Mary Washington 70, Frostburg State 35: : The visiting Bobcats (7-11, 2-7 CAC) were held scoreless for 10 minutes.

Franklin & Marshall 71, McDaniel 40: Devon Lesniak (Winters Mill) had 15 points in a losing effort for the visiting Green Terror (9-8, 6-4 Centennial), whose four-game winning streak ended.

Muhlenberg 82, Washington College 60: Spence Liddic scored a game-high 35 points and added 14 boards to power the host Mules (9-8, 5-5 Centennial Conference) past the Shoremen (5-12, 4-6). Kevin Hargrove had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Washington.

St. Mary's 86, Stevenson 55: Sam Burum and Alex Franz (Cardinal Gibbons) combined for 36 points, 19 and 17 respectively, to lead the host Seahawks (14-4, 8-1 CAC) past the Mustangs (5-13, 1-8).

Women

Loyola 60, Siena 53: Miriam McKenzie had a double double for Loyola as the Greyhounds improved to 9-9 (6-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), and the Saints fell to 7-10 (5-2). Loyola took sole possession of second place in the MAAC with the win.

Morgan State 51, Delaware State 44: Jamesia Smith and Theresa Davis led the visiting Bears (10-7, 4-1 MEAC) past the Hornets (5-12, 1-4). Morgan held Delaware State to 27 percent shooting from the field.

UMES 66, Coppin State 56: Casey Morton shot 7-for-12, including 6-for-7 from 3-point range, for a game-high 26 points and the host Hawks (6-12, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) outscored the Eagles (5-11, 2-3), 40-29, in the second half. Shawntae Payne had 10 points for Coppin.

Quinnipiac 74, Mount St. Mary's 60: The Bobcats (9-9, 6-1) completed their sweep of the Mount (5-14, 1-6). Ashley Christie had 15 points for Mount St. Mary's and Mary Dunn added 12.

Navy 55, Army 46: Angela Myers sank six 3-pointers and totaled 22 points to power the visiting Mids (12-7, 5-0 Patriot League) past the Black Knights (10-9, 4-1). Myers scored 13 first-half points to spark a Navy 27-21 halftime lead.

Chowan 55, Bowie State 45 : Chanita Jordan had 17 points in a losing effort for the host Bulldogs (7-7, 0-1 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).

Johns Hopkins 67, Dickinson 65: Alex Vassila had a career-high 16 points, including a layup with 2:43 left in overtime to put the visiting Blue Jays (14-3, 11-2 Centennial) up for good. Hopkins overcame a 10-point deficit in regulation. Red Devils fell to 7-9, 5-7.

Salisbury 75, Trinity 55: The visiting Sea Gulls (7-10) opened with a 9-0 run to collect their second straight win. The Tigers fell to 3-5. Salisbury's KC Curran had a game-high 18 points, and Katie McGahagan added 17. Salisbury went 23-for-28 from the line, shooting a season-best 82.1 percent.

Muhlenberg 87, Washington College 55: The host Mules (12-4, 8-3 Centennial Conference) scored the first six points of the second half and led by as many as 32. Alexandra Chili had a game-high 25 points for Muhlenberg. Latisha Pledger had 13 for the Shorewomen (6-10, 4-7).
