Reunion of '75-77 Colts set for March 6 at Martin's West

Bert Jones, Bruce Laird and Lydell Mitchell will be part of Corralin' the Colts, a reunion of the Baltimore Colts' 1975, 1976 and 1977 teams, which will be held March 6 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Martin's West. The event will feature a bull and oyster roast, a silent auction, autographs (at the player's discretion) and a walk down memory lane with the teams. UMBC survives in 2 OTs, defeats Hartford, 67-60

Tope Obajolu scored a career-high 20 points as host UMBC (10-9, 4-2 America East) outlasted Hartford (6-13, 3-3) to earn a two-overtime 67-60 victory. UMBC trailed 43-31 with 14:21 left in the second half before going on a 21-3 run and holding the Hawks scoreless for 11 minutes. The Retrievers led in the closing seconds of regulation and the first overtime before Hartford surged back both times.

More Division I: Dovile Miliauskaite had her second straight doubledouble (18 points, 10 rebounds), but host Towson (7-10, 1-5 Colonial Athletic Association) fell, 81-74, to Hofstra (11-6, 3-3).

Division II: Visiting Bowie State (7-6, 3-3 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) led for most of the second half, but Johnson C. Smith (13-1, 6-1) went on a 4-1 run with just under three minutes left and never trailed again in winning, 61-51.

Division III: Erin Fitzgerald scored 22 points and host Washington College (6-9, 4-6 Centennial Conference) held Bryn Mawr (0-15, 0-12) to two points in the first half and won, 67-26.

Junior college: Corliss Bowless' 26 points helped Howard CC (3-12, 3-6) to an 87-48 victory over visiting BCCC (0-21, 0-9) Wednesday night.

Phelps among 5 Marylanders who will swim at FINA worlds

Maryland will be well represented at the FINA World Championships on July 24-31 in Shanghai, China. Among USA Swimming's 42swimmers are: 14-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps (North Baltimore Aquatic Club), 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 fly, 200 individual medley; Katie Hoff (FAST Swim Team) 400 free, 800 free relay; Elizabeth Pelton (NBAC), 100 backstroke; Allison Schmitt (NBAC), 200 free; and Scott Spann (NBAC), 200breaststroke.

Men's college basketball: Micah Fraction scored 28 of his career-high 45 points in the second half to carry Baltimore City Community College (14-6, 7-3 MD JUCO) to a 96-86 win over host Howard Community College (6-9, 3-5) on Wednesday night. Fraction was 12-of-21 from the field for the game, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range and 19-of-22 from the free-throw line. He added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes.

High school soccer: Eastern Tech senior forward Zach Egner was selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America to the NSCAA/Adidas High School Scholar All-South team.

Bowling: Tim Criss of Bel Air finished 40th at the PBA Tournament of Champions at Red Rock Lanes in Las Vegas with a 34-game pinfall of 7,215. He earned $3,800. Eddie VanDaniker Jr. of Essex finished 48th with 7,151 and earned $3,000.
