Keys to the game
City coach Mike Daniel put this showdown of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in simple terms: "Bragging rights!" The game features a number of key matchups with both teams possessing strengths all over the court. For St. Frances, senior point guard R.J. Williams effectively runs the show by taking care of the basketball and making smart decisions. The Panthers' first option is down low with senior center Greg Lewis, who is the area's most dominant inside player. In last week's 72-50 win over then-No. 3 Digital Harbor, Lewis enjoyed a 19-point, 17-rebound performance, Williams added 13 points and eight assists, and two other starters reached double figures. City, which has captured two straight Class 2A state championships, has Maryland-bound guard Nick Faust with a versatile cast around him. Junior forward Charles Tapper will play a big role inside at both ends.
