Boys Athlete of the Week // Andrew Harris, Gilman, soccer

The junior goalie made 10 saves to preserve a 1-0 victory over No. 6 McDonogh for the MIAA A Conference soccer championship Sunday, which boosted the Greyhounds to the No. 1 ranking. It was his 13th shutout of the season. In Thursday's semifinal, he also shut out No. 14 Loyola, 2-0, with nine saves to send Gilman (17-2-3) to the final for the first time since 1995, when it shared the title with Archbishop Curley. Harris, who has a 3.5 grade-point average and plays for the Bays Chelsea Academy club team, has been invited to try out for the U.S. Under-18 national team at its camp Nov. 20-28 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
