What they're saying about the Ravens

Here's a look at what other media are saying about the Ravens' 37-34 overtime win against the Bills:

• James Walker, of ESPN.com's AFC North blog, writes that the Ravens look like they could really use their upcoming bye week after Sunday's shoddy performance.

After playing seven demanding games, perhaps this two-week respite comes at a great time. The Ravens would have lost to a lot of NFL teams not named the Bills with the way they played Sunday.

• ESPN.com's John Clayton considers the Ravens' secondary a liability despite the return of Ed Reed.

Reed was his usual ball-hawking self with two interceptions, a forced fumble and two passes defensed. But the Ravens gave up 374 passing yards to Ryan Fitzpatrick That's right, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

• SI.com's Peter King ranks the Ravens at No. 5 in his Fine Fifteen.

Head coach John Harbaugh is right. He found some fault with just about everything the Ravens did Sunday against outmanned Buffalo.

• Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports says the Ravens are still a work in progress.

Getting 34 points dropped on you by the Bills isn't anything to be proud of, particularly when your cornerbacks looked about as bad as they have all season long.

• CBSSports.com's Clark Judge singles out Ray Lewis in his Five Things I Like feature.

One of these days Lewis will slow down. Sunday was not that day.

• Reporters at the Buffalo News gave Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco a B for his efforts against the Bills.

Flacco was erratic, but made some big throws and didn't have an interception. Great grab by Boldin to keep TD drive alive late in first half.

• Sean Leahy of USA Today charged the Ravens with having the worst defensive unit of Week 7.

The Ravens' third-ranked unit allowed the Bills' 30th ranked (and winless) offense to ring up a season-high 34 points. But Leahy was impressed with the Ravens' offensive turnaround.

The Ravens scored 17 points in 72 seconds of the game clock (spanning halftime) that turned a 24-20 Bills lead into a 27-24 Ravens advantage. Two Bills turnovers helped the Ravens score points pivotal to their 37-34 overtime win.

• MASNsports.com's Dan Kolko says it's tough to get a read on the Ravens heading into the bye.

The passing defense has become a liability of late after allowing 558 yards through the air since halftime of the Patriots game last week. The pass rush has been nearly non-existent through that same time frame, and really, through much of the season overall.
