Week 7: Sam Farmer's NFL picks

Pro football reporter Sam Farmer breaks down the games.

Last week's record: 7-7 Against the spread: 7-7

Season: 50-40 Against the spread: 41-49

Off: Lions, Texans, Colts and Jets

Noon Eagles (4-2) at Titans (4-2)

Line: Titans by 3 Over/under: 43

Losing DeSean Jackson hurts, but Eagles still have enough receiving weapons to test so-so Titans secondary.

Pick: Eagles 30, Titans 24

Noon Steelers (4-1) at Dolphins (3-2)

Line: Steelers by 3 Over/under: 40 1/2

If Steelers can establish run, they will try to hit Dolphins over top with Mike Wallace, who's plenty fast enough to stretch field.

Pick: Steelers 20, Dolphins 15

Noon Jaguars (3-3) at Chiefs (3-2)

Line: Off board Over/under: Off

Chiefs should be able to regain defensive legs against inconsistent Jaguars, who are hitting road after short week.

Pick: Chiefs 27, Jaguars 24

Noon Bengals (2-3) at Falcons (4-2)

Line: Falcons by 3 1/2 Over/under: 42 1/2

Matt Ryan is 15-1 at home and Falcons should bounce back after disappointing performance vs. visiting Eagles.

Pick: Falcons 24, Bengals 20

Noon Rams (3-3) at Buccaneers (3-2)

Line: Bucs by 3 Over/under: 38

If Bucs couldn't stop Saints backup Chris Ivory, they're going to have beast of time keeping Steven Jackson contained.

Pick: Rams 20, Bucs 17

Noon Bills (0-5) at Ravens (4-2)

Line: Ravens by 13 Over/under: 39 1/2

This could be trap game for Ravens, but it's unlikely they will lose that much focus at home, and Bills don't have much firepower.

Pick: Ravens 30, Bills 17

Noon Browns (1-5) at Saints (4-2)

Line: Saints by 13 Over/under: 43

These aren't same Saints who rumbled through 2009. But winning in New Orleans is still tough, especially for team like banged-up Browns.

Pick: Saints 35, Browns 17

Noon 49ers (1-5) at Panthers (0-5)

Line: 49ers by 3 Over/under: 35 1/2

Panthers are switching back to Matt Moore, who had six turnovers in first two games. That's how bad things have gotten.

Pick: 49ers 17, Panthers 9

Noon Redskins (3-3) at Bears (4-2)

TV: WFLD-Ch. 32

Line: Bears by 3 Over/under: 40

Blocking Redskins' 3-4 defense — and especially keeping Brian Orakpo at bay — will be tall order for porous Bears offensive line.

Pick: Redskins 21, Bears 17

3:05 p.m. Cardinals (3-2) at Seahawks (3-2)

Line: Seahawks by 5 1/2 Over/under: 40 1/2

Pete Carroll has players believing in themselves, especially at home where they're 2-0. Tough place for Max Hall to make road debut.

Pick: Seahawks 28, Cardinals 21

3:15 p.m. Patriots (4-1) at Chargers (2-4)

TV: WBBM-Ch. 2

Line: Chargers by 2 1/2 Over/under: 47

Health of tight end Antonio Gates is huge. If Philip Rivers doesn't have him, Chargers' offense really handcuffed.

Pick: Patriots 28, Chargers 24

3:15 p.m. Raiders (2-4) at Broncos (2-4)

Line: Broncos by 8 Over/under: 41 1/2

With Knowshon Moreno back to health, Broncos should be able to control pace and clock against up-and-down Raiders.

Pick: Broncos 17, Raiders 14

7:20 p.m. Vikings (2-4) at Packers (3-3)

TV: WMAQ-Ch. 5

Line: Packers by 3 Over/under: 44 1/2

Brett Favre is big story, of course, but huge factor for Packers will be health of linebacker Clay Matthews, who can be incredibly disruptive.

Pick: Packers 27, Vikings 24

7:30 p.m. Monday Giants (4-2) at Cowboys (1-4)

TV: ESPN

Line: Cowboys by 3 Over/under: 44 1/2

Giants are rolling, Cowboys are reeling, so this should be an easy victory for Giants, right? Division rivalries often head different direction.

Pick: Cowboys 34, Giants 28
