Overton leads Patterson over Lake Clifton, 46-8

Aaron Overton went 8-for-13 for 180 yards and threw four touchdown passes and two two-point conversion passes to lead No. 13 Patterson past visiting Lake Clifton, 46-8, Thursday.

The Clippers improved to 6-1, and the Lakers fell to 0-7.

Overton also had four rushes for 46 yards, including a two-point conversion run. Deonta Winston caught one touchdown pass and rushed for another, and Donta Dewitt caught one touchdown pass and two two-point conversion passes.

Forest Park 49, Maritime Academy 0: Patrick Makell had six carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns as the host Foresters (7-0) shut out the Mariners. Forest Park finished last year's regular season 9-0 but lost in the regional championship to Dunbar with a 10-1 record. The Foresters' defense limited Maritime to one drive to the 20-yard line, despite being called for pass interference three times.

Poly 40, Digital Harbor 0: Darrell Milburn went 13-for-15 for 185 yards and threw three touchdown passes for the host Engineers (5-2). Poly led 20-0 after the first quarter and scored 32 of its 40 points in the first half.

Dunbar 68, Walbrook 0: Paki Brown had 10 rushes for 102 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Poets (6-1).

Field hockey ƒo No 1 Severna Park 10, Old Mill 0: Marissa Balleza, Kelsey Fielder and Kendyl Gardner each scored twice to power the host Falcons (10-0-1) past the Patriots.

Boys soccer ƒo Southern 4, No. 14 Chesapeake-AA 3: Carlos Menjivar completed his hat trick in the second overtime as the host Bulldogs upset the Cougars (5-4-2). Southern took a 3-1 lead before Chesapeake-AA scored twice. Laine Hogue headed in the -tying goal from the penalty kick line with less than a minute to play to force overtime. The Cougars drew a penalty for charging, and Menjivar scored on the penalty kick with 2:30 left in the second overtime. "We came out flat in the first half," Chesapeake-AA coach Chris Collins said. "We came on in the second, but they're a big, physical team and got to a lot of head balls."

Girls volleyball ƒo No. 4 Towson d. Milford Mill, 3-0: Kelly Lacey had 15 kills and Emily Lansinger had six to power the visiting Generals (11-0) past the Millers. Towson won, 25-4, 25-10, 25-10.ƒo

No. 5 Fallston d. North East, 3-0: Megan Amend had four kills and 10 passes and Heather Bartow had three blocks, two kills and seven passes for the visiting Cougars (9-1). Fallston won, 25-18, 25-10, 25-9.

No. 6 Broadneck d. Meade, 3-0: Alli Gras had seven aces and Dinah Jones had six aces and two kills for the visiting Bruins (6-3). Broadneck won, 23-6, 25-12, 25-19. ƒo No. 8 Arundel d. South River, 3-0: Ashlyn Catley had 18 kills and six diggs and Shannon Wilks went 24-for-25 serving and 13 digs to lead the visiting Wildcats (8-0) past the Seahawks. Arundel won, 23-25, 25-10, 25-19, 25-22.

No. 14 Liberty d. South Carroll, 3-0: Kelly McCormick and Kelsey Middleton combined to score 25 kills for the visiting Lions (7-3). Liberty won, 25-8, 25-15, 25-18.
