McDonogh girls soccer wins, stays undefeated

The No. 1-ranked McDonogh girls soccer team remained undefeated Wednesday as it they picked up a 4-0 victory on the road at the Institute of Notre Dame.

Taylor Cummings led the way for the visiting Eagles (8-0) with two goals.

Although they played on a bumpy and slippery field, the team was able the handle the conditions well McDonogh assistant coach Bridget Collins said.

"The girls played a great game," Collins said. "It was a great possession game."

No. 2 Mercy 5, St. Vincent Pallotti 0: Anna Borkowski scored two goals and assisted on one as the visiting Magic (8-1) defeated the Panthers.

No. 3 Archbishop Spalding 4, Notre Dame Prep 0: Maggie Morrison was involved with all four of the visiting Cavaliers' goals in their victory over the Blazers. Morrison had three goals and had an assist.

No. 4 John Carroll 4, Maryvale 0: Nicole Wojcik scored the only two goals in the first half to help the host Patriots (8-0-1) defeat the Lions.

No. 8 C. Milton Wright 2, Harford Tech 0: The host Mustangs (7-0-1) won their second game in two days, defeating the Cobras.

Boys soccer

No. 5 Perry Hall 5, Parkville 0: The visiting Gators (4-2) outshot the Knights 9-3 in their second straight win.

Girls volleyball

No. 7 Seton Keough d. St. Mary's, 3-0: Senior Liz Brown recorded 11 kills, three blocks and four aces to lead the visiting Gators (7-0) past the Saints.
