Garrison Forest's field hockey team came away with a 1-0 upset over Bryn Mawr on Tuesday when Megan Rossie scored with just over 16 minutes left, lifting the visiting Grizzlies (8-2-1) over the No. 5 Mawrtians (8-2).
Garrison Forest goalkeeper Kendall Kuntz made seven saves and posted a shutout.
"A lot of back and forth," Bryn Mawr coach Jeanette Budzik said. "Garrison started out dominating, then we got our bearings. They sent a long ball from the sideline that caught everyone off guard [leading to the goal]."
No. 1 Severna Park 10, Meade 0: Three players had multi-goal games, led by Marrissa Balleza with three, as the visiting Falcons outshot the Mustangs 26-0. Nell Bragdon had three assists.
"The defense played a beautiful game and kept them out of their end of the field," Severna Park coach Lil Shelton said.
No. 4 Century 1, Liberty 0: Goalie Brittany Barr recorded six saves in her fifth shutout of the season to lift the Knights (6-0) over the visiting Lions.
Casey McCorkell scored the game's only goal on an assist from Alice Mercer with a little over eight minutes left.
Boys soccer
No. 1 McDonogh 5, John Carroll 0: Kyle DeVinnie scored two goals and Julian Griggs provided three assists in the Eagles' (11-1) road win over the Patriots (4-4).
Goalkeepers Matt Barth and Matt Sanchez each recorded two saves in McDonogh's eighth shutout of the season.
No. 2 Gilman 0, No. 15 Calvert Hall 0: The host Cardinals (4-2-1) and the Greyhounds (7-0-3) played a double-overtime tie.
Andrew Harris made eight saves for Gilman and John Dillon had six for Calvert Hall.
"It was a wide-open game," Calvert Hall coach Andy Moore said. "Calvert Hall had a lot of chances in the first half, and Gilman had more in the second half."
No. 3 Reservoir 1, Atholton 0: The visiting Gators (7-0) beat the Raiders (2-2) as midfielder Connor Hasset's second goal of the season, in the 16th minute, was the only score of the game.
Jake Coccio provided the assist.
No. 8 Wilde Lake 1, Mount Hebron 0: Devon McNeel scored in the 26th minute to lift the host Wildecats (6-0-1) over the Vikings.
Girls soccer
No. 8 C. Milton Wright 1, North Harford 0: On a direct kick with two minutes left, the visiting Mustangs (6-0-1) decided to pass and Megan Frailer put the ball into the net for the win.
Wright outshot North Harford 18-6.
Girls volleyball
No. 6 Arundel d. Old Mill, 3-0: Shannon Wilks played a stellar defensive game and Emily Phaga'n recorded eight kills, lifting the Wildcats over the Patriots.
