The junior hitter/setter was named the Most Outstanding Player at the McDonogh Invitational on Saturday, leading the Cavaliers to the tournament title in the 10-team field. After advancing to the semifinal round, the Cavaliers defeated the host Eagles and then Paul VI from Fairfax, Virginia, to claim the title. Rombach, in her second season on varsity, finished the tournament with 48 kills and 33 assists. In addition to Saturday's win, the Cavaliers (6-0) had regular-season wins over Chapelgate and Chesapeake-AA during the week, with Rombach finishing her week with 62 kills, 44 assists and 11 blocks. Rombach has a weighted 4.3 grade-point average and also plays the clarinet for the school band.
