Top-ranked McDonogh holds off Calvert Hall in soccer

Mike Gamble scored 15 minutes into the game and Julian Griggs scored five minutes later, and top-ranked McDonogh held on for a 2-1 win at Calvert Hall in soccer on Thursday.

The Eagles improved to 9-1.

All the scoring took place in the first half, with the Cardinals' John Tune stealing the ball and beating McDonogh goalie Matt Sanchez (five saves) to cut the lead to one.
