Pro football reporter Sam Farmer breaks down the games.
Last week: 10-6 (.625) straight up
Noon Bears (1-0) at Cowboys (0-1)
TV: WFLD-Ch. 32
Line: Cowboys by 7.5 Over/under: 41
Cowboys aren't nearly as bad as they looked in opener, although they have major leaks to patch on offensive line. They will hold their ground at home.
Pick: Cowboys 21, Bears 10
Noon Ravens (1-0) at Bengals (0-1)
Line: Ravens by 2 Over/under: 40
Carson Palmer has prime targets in Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens and Jermaine Gresham. That's a lot to contain for a Ravens defense running low on corners.
Pick: Bengals 23, Ravens 17
Noon Cardinals (1-0) at Falcons (0-1)
Line: Falcons by 6.5 Over/under: 43
Falcons had chances at Pittsburgh but blew several opportunities to take advantage of a young quarterback. Should be able to atone for that at home.
Pick: Falcons 24, Cardinals 21
Noon Chiefs (1-0) at Browns (0-1)
Line: Browns by 1.5 Over/under: 38
Whereas Chiefs have a lot of speed on their roster, Browns are subpar in that department. Jake Delhomme, if he plays, needs to protect the ball.
Pick: Chiefs 20, Browns 17
Noon Dolphins (1-0) at Vikings (0-1)
TV: WBBM-Ch. 2
Line: Vikings by 5.5 Over/under: 39
Vikings clearly miss Sidney Rice, and Brett Favre says he was not in sync with receivers in opener. He should make headway against Dolphins' young corners.
Pick: Vikings 24, Dolphins 14
Noon Steelers (1-0) at Titans (1-0)
Line: Titans by 5 Over/under: 37
Steelers' defense played well against a tough Falcons offense, but Pittsburgh's sputtering offense, led by Dennis Dixon, will struggle keeping pace with Titans.
Pick: Titans 20, Steelers 17
Noon Bills (0-1) at Packers (1-0)
Line: Packers by 13 Over/under: 43
Bills made a good showing against Dolphins but will have to score a lot to hang with Packers in Green Bay. Bills are more of a grind-it-out team.
Pick: Packers 35, Bills 10
Noon Bucs (1-0) at Panthers (0-1)
Line: Panthers by 3.5 Over/under: 39
These rivals know each other well, and this game is usually close. Panthers have a slight edge even with their quarterback questions.
Pick: Panthers 13, Buccaneers 10
Noon Eagles (0-1) at Lions (0-1)
Line: Eagles by 6 Over/under: 41
Both teams already using backup quarterbacks. Eagles feel a lot better about Michael Vick than Lions do about Shaun Hill. Still, Detroit is no pushover.
Pick: Eagles 24, Lions 13
3:05 p.m. Seahawks (1-0) at Broncos (0-1)
Line: Broncos by 3.5 Over/under: 38
Can Pete Carroll prove the opening rout of 49ers wasn't a fluke? Broncos give him that chance, especially with their protection problems on offense.
Pick: Seahawks 21, Broncos 20
3:05 p.m. Rams (0-1) at Raiders (0-1)
Line: Raiders by 3.5 Over/under: 38
Rams looked better in opener than they did at any point last season. Still, we're talking about a rookie quarterback playing on the road against improved Raiders.
Pick: Raiders 20, Rams 14
3:15 p.m. Patriots (1-0) at Jets (0-1)
TV: WBBM-Ch. 2
Line: Patriots by 2.5 Over/under: 39
Jets can't be as bad as they looked against Ravens. Still, Tom Brady should be able to exploit their weakness at corner opposite Darrelle Revis.
Pick: Patriots 20, Jets 13
3:15 p.m. Texans (1-0) at Redskins (1-0)
Line: Texans by 3 Over/under: 44
Texans finally look like a complete team now that they have a running game. Redskins are coming off a big victory, but Donovan McNabb can play better.
Pick: Texans 24, Redskins 20
3:15 p.m. Jaguars (1-0) at Chargers (0-1)
Line: Chargers by 7 Over/under: 45
Chargers are struggling early again, and stopping the run is a problem. That makes a matchup with the Jaguars and Maurice Jones-Drew especially tough.
Pick: Chargers 27, Jaguars 17
7:20 p.m. Giants (1-0) at Colts (0-1)
TV: WMAQ-Ch. 5
Line: Colts by 5.5 Over/under: 48
The much-anticipated rematch of the Manning brothers will be the focus. Real question is: Can Giants take advantage of the holes in Colts' run defense?
Pick: Colts 27, Giants 20
7:30 p.m. Monday Saints (1-0) at 49ers (0-1)
TV: ESPN.
Line: Saints by 5.5 Over/under: 44
49ers have to regain balance after an embarrassing showing at Seattle. That will be tough to do against a rested Saints team with a high-powered offense.
Pick: Saints 30, 49ers 17
