Ravens training camp highlights: Aug. 4

WORST HIT OF THE DAY: On the first play of team drills, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata bumped into quarterback Joe Flacco, who did a somersault after he landed. Luckily for the Ravens, Flacco wasn't hurt.

CATCH OF THE DAY: During a two-minute drill, wide receiver Anquan Boldin pulled in a long pass over Dawan Landry. It was the longest completion of the day for Flacco.

TACKLE OF THE DAY: Getting a pitch from Flacco, Ray Rice had only one defender to beat to score a touchdown. But safety Haruki Nakamura continued a strong camp by grabbing Rice's right leg and pulling him down in open space.

GET ONE, LOSE ONE: Tom Zbikowski, who is filling in for Ed Reed at free safety, always seems to be around the ball. He picked off Flacco in a red-zone drill, jumping in front of Boldin. He put himself into position for another interception later, but dropped a pass from Marc Bulger.

MULTIPURPOSE BACK: The hottest day of camp didn't go unnoticed by Rice. The starting running back went over to the fans and squirted water into the mouths of some children.

KICKING UPDATE: Despite hitting the Madden Cruiser with a field goal, Billy Cundiff had a productive day, outperforming Shayne Graham. Cundiff connected on five of six field-goal attempts. His only miss was from 60 yards. Graham hit four of seven. His misses were from 34, 47 and 60 yards.

INJURIES: CB K.J. Gerard (hamstring) and OT Tony Moll (concussion) didn't practice. CBChris Carr (lower back) and TEDavon Drew (hamstring) returned to practice. Players who remain on the physically-unable-to-perform list are: FS Ed Reed (hip), center Matt Birk (elbow), CB Lardarius Webb (knee), LB Brendon Ayanbadejo (quadriceps) and RB Matt Lawrence (knee). OT Oniel Cousins (throat) is on the nonfootball illness list.

OVERHEARD: "Let's make it look like you worked today." -- sweaty running back Willis McGahee, while squirting water on injured wide receiver Derrick Mason.

SCHEDULE: Today's practice starts at 8:45 a.m. and could run two to 2 1/2 hours. The afternoon session is a full-team practice and begins at 2:45 p.m.
