Former WBAL sports anchor Steve Davis debuts on 105.7 The Fan

A familiar voice was heard on WJZ-FM 105.7 The Fan on Tuesday morning when longtime sports anchor Steve Davis joined Ed Norris for the inaugural "Norris and Davis Show," which can be heard weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m.

Davis, the former sports anchor for Channel 45/WBFF and WBAL radio, provides a knowledgeable sports voice in teaming with Norris, a former Baltimore City police officer who talks politics and all things Baltimore.

"I think what people will be able to expect are the things that I've done for 16 years being in Baltimore -- talking sports," Davis said. "And Ed obviously has a whole bunch of things in his wheelhouse that people really gravitate to regarding his opinions on politics or what's going on in the city or even sports. So we'll talk about what guys are interested in and what women are interested in hearing as well."

Davis was pleased with his first show and is excited about the opportunity to do morning drive. He said the combination with Norris should provide plenty of compelling radio for listeners.

"I think we have a lot of common, but then we certainly come from very different backgrounds and different perspectives," he said. "He's in law enforcement and I'm a sports broadcaster, so I think we'll probably bring, in many cases, very different viewpoints. We're not cut from the same cloth, so we should have, at times, some pretty diverse points of view."
