Pitcher Bobby Ruse struck out 13 and gave up only two hits as the top-ranked C. Milton Wright baseball team shut out visiting North Harford, 4-0, on Monday.
Catcher Andrew Clow went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in helping the Mustangs improve to 11-0 on the season.
Softball
No. 12 Mount de Sales 6, Institute of Notre Dame 3: Pitcher Holly Whitehead hit two home runs to go along with her 10 strikeouts as the Sailors (7-6) beat the host Indians. Mount de Sales had five homers in the victory.
No. 8 Howard 5, No. 15 Reservoir 3: The Lions used a balanced offensive attack, collecting seven hits from seven players in a victory over the Gators. "
It was a strong team effort; it was great to see everyone contribute today," Howard coach Dave Vezzi said.
Kensey O'Neill pitched a complete game for Howard, allowing just four hits.
Girls lacrosse
No. 4 Notre Dame Prep 14, No. 15 Severn 9: Covie Stanwick scored six goals and added two assists as the visiting Blazers defeated the Admirals.
The score was close for much of the game, but Notre Dame Prep outscored Severn 6-1 during the final 15 minutes to come away victorious.
