Kerry Hickey had nine strikeouts and one walk in her first no-hitter of the season and ninth of her career as the host Maryland softball team (24-16, 2-8 Atlantic Coast Conference) shut out Virginia Tech, 7-0, in the first game of a doubleheader. The Hokies (16-25, 3-8) took the second game, 2-1. The Terps and Hokies meet again at 1 p.m. today. Maryland will honor its seniors, Alex Schultz, Nadine Blackie and Lydia Fowler, before the game.
