In his first outing of the season, Ruse went five innings, striking out four, and picked up the win in beating No. 2 Severna Park, 12-2. He also had two hits and two RBIs in that game. He singled in the winning run to edge No. 14 River Hill, 1-0, and hit a two-run home run in an 11-1 win over Rising Sun. Ruse, who pitched for the Oriolelanders fall showcase team, is batting .444 and has five RBIs through four games. He has a 3.0 grade-point average and has committed orally to play for Maryland.
