Free-agent cornerback Phillip Buchanon has signed with the Washington Redskins, the fifth team in nine seasons for the 2002 first-round draft pick. He spent last year with the Detroit Lions, playing in 13 games and recording no interceptions. Buchanon has also played for the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has 18 career interceptions, returning five of them for touchdowns.
