Led by senior Alise McDonald, Towson earned its sixth consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference championship in the final meet of Dick Filbert's 28-season coaching career. The Tigers earned a 192.725 team score and never trailed in beating runner-up William & Mary (190.800) in Philadelphia. McDonald, competing in her final meet, won the all-around competition with a 38.95 score. She also took first place on vault (9.85) and finished third on floor exercise (9.80). "It was an unbelievable day," said Filbert, who was honored as the ECAC Coach of the Year on Friday night and who is retiring along with his assistant coach and wife, Lynda Filbert.

College softball: Salisbury's Margie Knight was honored before Saturday's doubleheader against Stevenson for earning her 500th career win Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Wesley. Knight became the 25th coach in Division III history to reach the plateau. The Sea Gulls won, 8-0 and 3-0, on Saturday.

Men's college basketball: Navy assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jason Crafton is among five finalists for the head coaching position at Saint Michael's.
