Shanahan will keep Redskins home for training camp

Baltimore Sun

The Washington Redskins announced that training camp will be held at Redskins Park for the eighth straight year. Mike Shanahan said when he was hired as coach in January that he liked the idea of going away for training camp, but he has since changed his mind, citing the facility's meeting space, practice fields and proximity to fans. The large crowds have caused some logistical issues in recent years, but players mostly prefer staying at home. The Redskins last went away for camp in 2003, when they were in Carlisle, Pa.
