The 6-foot-3, 180-pound combo guard was the area's most talented and versatile player, averaging 32 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals for the No. 10 Lakers.

The DeMatha transfer was explosive to the basket, equally effective from beyond the 3-point line, and hard-nosed on defense and when hitting the boards.

"I think his passion for the game is incredible," Lake Clifton coach Herman "Tree" Harried said. "Sometimes you have to tell him to take a break. He was consistent with his effort at both ends, and he was not intimidated by the big game. He lives for those games and is not afraid of the big stage."

In leading the Lakers to a 15-6 mark, Selby scored 40 or more points in four games this season.

A consensus Top 10 recruit who is ranked fourth in the country by Rivals.com, Selby is considering Kansas, Connecticut, Arizona and Kentucky. The McDonald's All-American is expected to announce his decision at the Jordan Brand Classic all-star game in New York on April 17.
