Morgan State senior guard Reggie Holmes (St. Frances), who averaged 21.8 points, and sophomore forward Kevin Thompson (Walbrook), who averaged 12.7 points and 11.8 rebounds, were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 15 first team. Bears freshman forward DeWayne Jackson, who averaged 10.1 points, was selected to the All-District 15 second team. District 15 comprises Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Atlantic Coast Conference: Sylven Landesberg, Virginia's suspended leading scorer, is leaving school to pursue a professional career. Coach Tony Bennett said Landesberg won't complete the current semester. Earlier this month the sophomore guard was suspended for the rest of the season for failing to meet academic obligations.
