1. McDonogh

Coach: Jeff Sanborn

Last year: Unranked, fifth in MIAA

Outlook: The Eagles enter the outdoor season after winning the MIAA indoors on the strength of Justin Gross and lots of depth. They'll have a shot at winning again outdoors.

2. Archbishop Curley

Coach: Gene Hoffman

Last year: No. 4, second in MIAA

Outlook: The Friars have a good combination of talent and depth. Sprinter George Chambers should lead the way as they'll be one of the MIAA's top teams.

3. Hereford

Coach: Jason Bowman

Last year: Unranked, 12th in Class 3A

Outlook: The Bulls have been strong all year, winning the Baltimore County title indoors, nearly getting it in cross country and taking sixth in the state in Class 3A indoors. They're getting stronger in field events, which helps in postseason meets.

4. Dulaney

Coach: Dion Hylton

Last year: Unranked, fourth in Baltimore County championship

Outlook: Matthew Rever led the Lions to a strong season indoors, where they finished eighth in the Class 4A state meet. They're always good in distance events and have balance, but their biggest problem is being in Class 4A.

5. Reservoir

Coach: Phil Rogers

Last year: Unranked, 10th in Class 3A

Outlook: Reservoir had a great indoor season, where it finished second in the state in Class 3A. Yao Adantor (shot put) and Chris Yamoah (high jump) won state titles as Reservoir nearly won the team crown.

6. Broadneck

Coach: Brianna Kelly

Last year: Unranked, 15th in Class 4A

Outlook: The Bruins can score all over the place. That balance helped them win the Anne Arundel County indoor meet, take ninth in Class 4A at the state meet and will make them tough again this spring.

7. Loyola

Coach: Jose Albornoz

Last year: Unranked, sixth in MIAA

Outlook: Loyola has improved a lot since last year. The Dons are very strong in distance running, led by Matt Jablonski. They'll make noise in the MIAA if they can find points in other places.

8. Gilman

Coach: Johnnie Foreman

Last year: No. 1, first in MIAA

Outlook: The Greyhounds have lost talent from last year's MIAA championship team but still have some punch. The big question is how competitive they can be this spring.

9. Carver

Coach: Stephen Kines

Last year: Unranked, 4th in Class 1A s

Outlook: The Bears were the biggest surprise in indoor track, winning the Baltimore City, region and Class 1A state title. They're very deep and could do it again outdoors.

10. Poly

Coach: Steve Williams

Last year: No. 5, third in Class 2A

Outlook: The Engineers don't have quite as much firepower as last year and had to move up to Class 3A. But Williams knows how to maneuver the lineup to find points.
