Morrison lifts Spalding girls over Bishop McNamara in Walsh semis

Maggie Morrison scored a game-high 23 points to power No. 2 Archbishop Spalding past Bishop McNamara of Prince George's County, 66-60, in a Bishop Walsh Invitational Tournament semifinal Friday.

The Cavaliers (10-4) advance to today's championship to face No. 1 St. Frances at 6:15 p.m. The Panthers beat No. 6 Seton Keough, 68-53, in the other semifinal.

Spalding's last lost was to St. Frances, 67-65, on Feb. 4.

In a close game, the Cavaliers never led by more than six points at the end of each quarter. Taylor Brown led the Mustangs with 16 points. Shaquila Curtis added 15 points for the Cavaliers, who have won four straight.
