Shawn Atupem scored 15 points and Will Holland had 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead host Mount St. Mary's past Saint Francis (Pa.), 67-51, on Thursday night.
The win marks the ninth straight for the Mount (14-14, 11-6) and secures home-court advantage for the Northeast Conference tournament. The Red Flash (11-17, 9-8) saw their winning streak end at four.
Mount St. Mary's, which has won by double figures in seven straight games, led by 15 points in the first half, but Saint Francis (11-17, 9-8) cut the deficit to 38-36 on Will Felder's dunk with 13:18 remaining. The Mount answered with a 15-2 run and wasn't challenged again.
Beidler finished with 12 points, and Jeremy Goode had 10 for Mount St. Mary's.
Elizabeth City State 68, Bowie State 56: The Vikings contained and harassed Duke Crews and Travis Hyman (Old Mill) into 11 combined turnovers and limited the Bulldogs to 35.7 percent shooting in Charlotte, N.C., to advance to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament semifinals.
"We're just so excited right now to be advancing," Vikings coach Shawn Walker said. "We did a great job tonight neutralizing Duke Crews. Naturally, it's a very difficult task for us, but I thought we did a great job."
Crews had 19 points and 13 rebounds. Elizabeth City State's Blake Price recorded 15 points and four assists, both team highs.
St. Mary's 95, Marymount 62: Camontae Griffin (Dunbar) had a game-high 33 points on 14-for-21 shooting, including 4-for-5 on 3-point attempts, to power the host Seahawks (23-3) past the Saints (15-12) in a Capital Athletic Conference semifinal.
St. Mary's advances to its third final, where it will host defending champion Wesley, a 94-81 winner over York, at 2 p.m. Saturday.
WomenSaint Francis (Pa.) 68, Mount St. Mary's 53: Leah Westbrooks paced the host Mount (10-17, 6-11 NEC) with 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.
With Quinnipiac having defeated Monmouth,78-69, the Mountaineers must beat Robert Morris on Saturday to advance to its unprecedented 21st straight NEC tournament.
Britney Hodges led the Red Flash (13-14, 10-7) with 24 points.
Hofstra 47, Towson 41: Freshman forward Shante Evans had her 12th double double of the season (17 points, 14 rebounds) to power the Pride (17-11, 10-6 Colonial Athletic Association) past the host Tigers (13-14, 7-9).
The win was Hofstra's third straight and sixth in its past seven games. Towson has lost three straight.
Towson got nine points apiece from Haliena Snowden (Seton Keough) and Charmonique Watt.
Bowie State 44, Shaw 43: Brittney Barber scored her only field goal with 23 seconds left in the game to lift the host Bulldogs (17-7) over the Bears (16-12) in a CIAA tournament quarterfinal.
