Pat Downey North County, wrestlingThe junior set a school record last week when he pinned his Old Mill opponent in the 171-pound class in eight seconds. "Anything under 10 seconds is rare and fast," said Don Foderaro, Downey's coach. "You don't see eight seconds often. He took the kid down on his back, and it was over." Downey is 24-0 this season with 18 pins. He has not lost since the 2008 National Preps Tournament, where he wrestled in the 145-pound class and finished sixth. Foderaro said Downey maximizes his natural athletic talent with hard work, which also makes him strong on technique.
