Watch party at ESPN Zone; Ovechkin, Backstrom honored

Baltimore Sun

ESPN Zone will be hosting a Capitals watch party on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. as Washington takes on the Montreal Canadiens and goes for 15 straight wins. The game will be shown on the restaurant's 16-foot big screen. ESPN Zone MVP members who request priority seating that night will receive an old-school Caps hockey puck. There will be giveaways for everyone in attendance.

Honors: Left wing Alex Ovechkin, who led NHL scorers last week with 10 points (seven goals, three assists) as the Capitals went 4-0-0, has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week for the second time in four weeks and the third time this season. It's the 13th time in his career that he has been named either one of the Three Stars of the Week or NHL Player of the Week. Nicklas Backstrom, who had 10 points on two goals and eight assists, has been named the NHL's Third Star of the Week for the second week in a row; it's the third time this season and the fourth time in his career that he has been one of the three stars of the week.
