Calvert Hall forward Pete Caringi III has signed a national letter of intent to play men's soccer at UMBC, where his father is the coach. The younger Caringi was a first-team All-Metro player after scoring 15 goals this fall, the second straight season he led the team in scoring. In other news, forward Nirav Kadam, who played at Northwest in Germantown and at UNC-Greensboro, signed a grant-in-aid and will matriculate at UMBC this spring; he'll have two years of eligibility.

More men's soccer: Zachary Modly (Mount St. Joseph) committed to Air Force and David Arnold (Mount St. Joseph) to Navy.

Women's soccer: Stephanie Green (North Harford) signed with Coastal Carolina.

Men's basketball: The Navy-Bucknell game scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Friday at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. The game has been moved up a day because of the snowstorm expected to hit the Mid-Atlantic region.

Men's lacrosse: Maryland's home scrimmage against Cornell, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved to Friday at 1 p.m. because of the predicted snow.

Women's lacrosse: Navy was picked to finish in a tie for second place with Lehigh in preseason voting by Patriot League coaches and sports information directors. Colgate finished first in the poll with 66 points, seven more than the Midshipmen and Mountain Hawks. Navy junior Caitlin Mandrin Hill was voted Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Football: Annapolis offensive lineman Austin Hochman signed a letter of intent to attend Bowie State.
