Trio combines for 65 points in BU's 75-63 win over UMBC

John Holland scored 25 points and Corey Lowe and Jake O'Brien scored 20 each to lead Boston University to a 75-63 victory over visiting UMBC. The trio combined to hit 10 of the Terriers' 11 3-pointers, as BU (8-8, 3-1 America East Conference) won its third straight game. Chauncey Gilliam and Chris De La Rosa scored 13 points each for the Retrievers (1-14, 0-2), who also got 12 points and 13 rebounds from Jake Wasco and 10 points from Adrian Satchell.

Rankings: St. Mary's (11-2, 4-1 Capital Athletic Conference) rose three spaces to No. 17 in the D3hoops.com Top 25. Junior guard Alex Franz (Cardinal Gibbons) has 3.9 steals a game, second in the nation in Division III. The Seahawks have won 13 straight regular-season games. Senior guard Camontae Griffin (Dunbar) is 14th in the country with a league-best 22.3 points per game.
