Triple double by Baylor's Udoh too much for Morgan State

Ekpe Udoh recorded the fifth triple double in Baylor history Wednesday night to lead the Bears to a 79-63 win over visiting Morgan State. Udoh swatted away Joe Davis' layup attempt with 1:35 remaining for his career-best 10th block after scoring 18 points and pulling down 17 rebounds for Baylor (12-1). Reggie Holmes (St. Frances) led Morgan State (8-6) with 23 points. Baylor, which led 39-36 at halftime, took control early in the second half when Carter sparked a 19-3 run with a pair of alley-oop passes to Udoh and Acy and a 3-pointer from the top of the key.

More men: Freshman Halil Kanacevic scored a career-high 18 points and had 10 rebounds and five blocks as Hofstra used a first-half spurt to pull away from Towson, 77-61. The Pride (9-7, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association) extended a 45-36 halftime lead to as many as 19 points by outshooting the Tigers in the second half 48.1 percent to 25 percent from the field. Calvin Lee led Towson (3-10) with 17 points, and Robert Nwankwo added 14 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. ... Zack Rosen led four players in double figures with 28 points as visiting Pennsylvania defeated host UMBC, 82-71. The Quakers (1-10) outscored the Retrievers (1-13) by 47-38 in the sescond half. Chris De La Rosa led UMBC with 28 points.

Women: Carlee Cassidy scored on a layup with seven seconds left to bring host UMBC (6-8, 0-1 America East) within three, but the Retrievers fell short, 69-66, against Hartford (11-3, 2-0). Cassidy finished with 21 points. UMBC trailed by as many as 16 points.
