Ports named NSCAA's Division III Player of the Year

York (Pa.) College senior Jon Ports (McDonogh) was named the NSCAA Division III Men's Soccer Player of the Year after leading the Spartans to a 17-1-5 record. Ports scored seven goals and added nine assists for a team-high 23 points. The three-time first-team All-American and two-time Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year finished his three-year career with 33 goals, including 12 game-winners, and 35 assists. His 101 points rank third in the program's history.

D.C. United: Midfielder/forward Chris Pontius has been called up to the U.S. Men's National Team's January training camp in Los Angeles, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced . Pontius will join the U.S. team on Jan. 4 and will remain in camp until the team's friendly against Honduras at the Home Depot Center on Jan. 23. This is the first-ever call-up for United's 22-year-old.
