Indoor football: The Baltimore Mariners of the American Indoor Football Association added three rookies to their training camp roster, including two former Maryland high school stars. Joining the team were wide receiver Delannie Spriggs Jr. (Northern); defensive back Richan Gaskins, who played at Eleanor Roosevelt High in Prince George's County; and wide receiver Damon Harrison. Spriggs was on the Salisbury University football team for one semester before becoming an All-America sprinter on the Sea Gulls' track and field team. Gaskins, who worked out for the Washington Redskins this year, played his college ball at Duquesne. Harrison played at Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C.
