Eric FriedmanSt. Paul's, sophomore
He was very accomplished by the end of last season, winning the 103-pound MIAA and Maryland Independent School titles. Friedman went to the junior nationals and earned All-America status with a fifth-place freestyle finish.
Frankie GoodwinArundel, senior
He won MIAA and MIS state titles at 119 last season while wrestling for Mount St. Joseph, finishing 39-6. Goodwin has transferred to Arundel, where he starts the season ranked No. 5 nationally overall and No. 4 among seniors by InterMat.com in the 130-pound weight class.
Tyler GoodwinArundel, sophomore
He wrestled for Mount St. Joseph last season. Goodwin is a scrappy competitor looking to make a major impact. He won the MIAA 112-pound title and placed second at junior nationals in the Greco-Roman style.
Mason GoretsasNorth Carroll, senior
He captured two Class 4A-3A regional titles, a county championship and a state title at 125 pounds last season. Experience and strong moves helped him compile a 36-2 record.
Karl GreenMount St. Joseph, senior
He is ranked No. 4 in the country at 285 pounds by InterMat.com, is a two-time MIAA and MIS state champ and an All-American in both freestyle and Greco-Roman styles. Green has perfected the foot sweep to bring matches to sudden conclusions.
Nathan KraisserCentennial, sophomore
He pinned 24 opponents while building a 37-1 record. Kraisser ended the season ranked eighth nationally at 103 pounds, and begins this season ranked No. 3 nationally among sophomores and No. 12 overall by InterMat.
Brett PrzywaraArchbishop Curley, junior
He won the MIS title as a freshman and finished third last season while competing in the same class as Frankie Goodwin. He is a hard worker who anchors the Friars and is pointing toward a second state crown this season.
Ron VaughtersOld Mill, junior
He won the 4A-3A state title at 135 pounds to finish with a 42-3 record. This season, Vaughters will move up to 145, where his tough, head-banging, heavy-hitting style will serve him well.
Mwanza WalamulumbaMeade, senior
Walamulumba, 39-1 last season, earned Anne Arundel, regional and state titles at 215 pounds. His body is chiseled, and he uses his strength to earn quick victories.
