Girl Athlete of the Week (May 26): Eva Klaus, Severna Park lacrosse

The junior midfielder dominated the draws and contributed four goals and an assist to lead the No. 10 Falcons past Bel Air for the Class 4A-3A state championship, the 13th title in program history. Klaus won 14 of the 26 draws the Falcons controlled in the 18-15 victory over Bel Air. She scored twice in the opening 5-2 run that gave Severna Park a lead it would not relinquish. She also had a goal and an assist and won several draws in the last 13 minutes of the game to help hold off the Bobcats. Klaus, who plays club lacrosse for the Bay Area Lacrosse Club, finished the season with 56 goals, 13 assists and 108 draw controls. She also plays field hockey and runs indoor track for the Falcons.  With a 4.0 unweighted GPA, she is committed to play lacrosse at Johns Hopkins.
