Since moving to Howard County from Yakima, Wash., for his junior year of high school, Wilde Lake's David Eisenhauer has been tough to beat throughout the state on both the cross country and track circuits.
Coming off last spring's state outdoor championship performance in the 3,200-meter run, Eisenhauer followed up this winter by winning the 2-mile run at the Class 3A state indoor track meet, as well as taking the 1,600 title. Eisenhauer already had collected indoor wins in both races atthe county and 3A East regional levels.
"To go through that, back-to-back-to-back weeks on a young kid's legs, I thought it was a tremendous performance," Wilde Lake coach Whitty Bass said. "I think he's the best-kept secret in Maryland."
