In the tournament title game, a 10-7 win over the host Lions, Southern went 4 for 4 with three singles, a double and two RBIs. He also made a diving catch on a popup, turning it into a double play. In the tournament semifinal, he went 1 for 3 with a sacrifice fly and an RBI in a 9-5 win over Northeast. Earlier in the week, he went 1 fo 1 with a sacrifice fly and two RBIs and threw out a base runner in a 12-0 win over Long Reach. For the season, he is batting .765 with a .941 slugging percentage and eight RBIs. Southern, who plays for the Oriolelanders club team, has a 3.45 GPA and plans to play at York or Ohio Wesleyan next year.
