Patrick Spencer scored the game-winner in the second overtime Tuesday as top-ranked Boys' Latin outlasted No. 9 Gilman, 9-8, in lacrosse.
Gilman (2-6, 0-3 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening six minutes and led 5-2 after the first quarter. Boys' Latin (10-2, 2-1) shut down the Greyhounds in the second and third quarters.
But Gilman rallied in the fourth. Trailing 8-6 with 1:20 left, the Greyhounds stopped a shot on an empty goal, got possession and scored. The Greyhounds won the ensuing faceoff and tied the game with 23 seconds left in regulation.
Boys' Latin did not have a single offensive possession in the first four minutes of overtime. Spencer finished with four goals.
No. 2 McDonogh 16, No. 14 Severn 10: Robert Clark had eight points (6 goals, 2 assists) to power the Eagles (8-3, 2-1 MIAA A Conference) past the host Admirals (6-3, 0-3).
McDonogh increased its one-goal lead with a 6-3 run in the second quarter. Charlie Olmert led Severn with five goals.
No. 4 Loyola Blakefield 18, Mount Saint Joseph 13: Penn-bound Alex Roesner scored nine goals to power the visiting Dons (6-1, 3-0 MIAA A Conference) past the host Gaels (7-5, 1-2).
Loyola Blakefield, the only undefeated team in the league, took sole possession of first place.
Drew Harrison had six goals for Mount Saint Joseph.
No. 5 Calvert Hall 11, Archbishop Spalding 6: Timmy Kelly scored four goals to lead the Cardinals (9-2, 2-1 MIAA A Conference) past the host Cavaliers (4-7, 1-2).
Calvert Hall built a 9-3 halftime advantage.
No. 10 Westminster 7, Century 4: Blake Ruby scored three goals to lead the Owls (8-0) past the host Knights (5-3).
Poly 8, City 7: The visiting Engineers (5-1, 5-0 Baltimore City) overcame a 4-1 early deficit to come away with the win over the Knights (4-1, 3-1).
Evan Newlon (three goals, one assist), Atoine Guy (two goals, one assist) and Julian Brown (two goals) carried the attack, which score four straight goals in the second quarter to take a 5-4 halftime lead that would stand up.

No. 1 McDonogh 15, St. Mary's 6: The host Eagles (12-0, 7-0 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference) extended their winning streak to 124 games by beating the Saints (2-7, 1-6).
Brindi Griffin had a hat trick for McDonogh, which led 9-2 at halftime.
St. Paul's 11, No. 4 Bryn Mawr 10: The Gators (6-5, 4-3 IAAM A Conference) took control of the game early and held off a late rally by the host Mawrtians (6-4, 5-3).
Ashlyn McGovern had four goals and three assists for St. Paul's, which led 11-8 in the closing minutes of the game.
No. 3 Mount Hebron 13, River Hill 2: Chachi Kelehan scored four goals to power the host Vikings (7-0) past the Hawks (1-6).
