The top-ranked Calvert Hall baseball team won its second straight game, beating visiting Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.), 4-2, Wednesday.
The Cardinals (11-3) scored three runs in the second inning and added a run in the fourth.
The Northstars fell to 0-1 as their defense committed six errors. Mike Finn had two hits and an RBI for Calvert Hall. Cicero-North Syracuse's Steven Theetge pitched five innings and gave up three earned runs and six hits in the loss.
No. 11 South Carroll 9, Linganore 3: Thomas Piechowiak went 4-for-4 with a double and Bradley Haas went 3-for-3 with two runs for the Cavaliers (6-2).
Softball
No. 6 Liberty 16, Tuscarora 0: Lexi Jones hit three triples and Kasey Bost had two doubles for the Lions (6-1), who scored 11 runs in the third inning. Lexi Trail struck out 13.
Boys lacrosse
Havre de Grace 17, Bohemia Manor 3: Colin Dean scored four goals and assisted on five to lead the Warriors (5-1) past the visiting Eagles.
Havre de Grace, which led 9-1 at the half, also got four goals from Nick Burley. Burley also had an assist. Trent Reynolds added three goals, while Casey Brown (four assists), Kyle Barkley and Jordan Hawthorne scored two goals apiece.
Havre de Grace had a decided edge in faceoffs, 17-6, with Chris Parrott winning 10. Goalie Jacob Laubner had no saves.

Old Mill 15, Northeast 14: Ben DeBlauw converted an assist from Kevin Hall for the tiebreaking goal with just over three minutes remaining and goalie Zack Bell made two crucial stops late to secure the win.
Hall had four goals and three assists to lead the Patriots (3-3). Ben Gillen added three goals, and Bell finished with 14 saves. For the Eagles (1-5), Collin Stasch scored six goals.

Tuesday's softball
No. 11 Mount de Sales 3, Catonsville 1: Junior pitcher Emily Fitzsimmons pitched a complete game to lead the Sailors (5-3) past the host Comets (4-3).
Fitzsimmons allowed just three hits, including a home run by Alleshia Pullen for the Comets' only run.
Stefani Sekus had two hits for the Sailors.
