Reservoir 7, Long Reach 1: The visiting Gators (2-0) dominated throughout on defense, and Matt Marsh led the offense past the Lightning (1-3).

"Our defense played very well, our goalie [Jake Smith] played very well," Reservoir coach Bryan Cole said. "Our defense ... they can play. They can handle the ball, they can check, and they can bring the ball over the midfield line. It's definitely one of our strengths."

Marsh had three goals and an assist, while junior Max Zester added two first-half goals as the Gators scored the game's first six goals.

"Today we played well," Marsh said. "The defense really kept us in the game. It's been tough graduating five offensive starters. Defense is definitely holding us down."
