State women: Thomas' triple double helps Terps roll, 90-40

Junior forward Alyssa Thomas registered the first triple double of her career with 11 points, 11 assists and 12 rebounds as No. 9 Maryland dismantled visiting George Mason, 90-40, on Saturday at Comcast Center.
Marissa Coleman had the only other triple double in program history, in 2006.
Tianna Hawkins, who leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring at 19 points per game, added a game-high 27 points along with seven rebounds for the Terps (6-2).
The Terps opened the game on an 18-0 run and never looked back, shooting 55.6 percent from the field for the contest.
Malina Howard and Tierney Pfirman each scored 11 points and Alicia DeVaughn added 10 for the defending ACC champions.
Rahneeka Saunders led the Patriots (4-4) with 13 points.
Virginia Commonwealth 57, Coppin State 46: The Rams held the Eagles scoreless for a 10-minute stretch of the second half as the smothering defensive performance propelled VCU to a victory over the host Eagles.
Mount St. Mary's 53, Navy 45: The Mount outscored the visiting Mids 20-8 over the final 10 minutes en route to its 10th consecutive home victory over Navy (6-5).
Mount St. Mary's (3-4) scored 22 points off of 18 turnovers.
The Mount's Jacqueline Brewer led all scorers with 16 points.
Salisbury 62, Frostburg State 49: Julia McLaughlin scored 16 points and Katie McGahagan added 11 points and nine rebounds as the host Sea Gulls (4-4, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference) edged the Bobcats.
Elaina Hummel scored a game-high 20points for Frostburg State (2-5, 0-2).
Washington College 50, Haverford 47: Freshman Ashley Espinosa recorded her first career double double, compiling 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, to lead the host Shorewomen (6-2, 4-2 CC) past the Fords (6-2, 5-1).
