Host Loyola ended a two-game losing streak Wednesday night with an 87-75 win against Division III Catholic.
The Greyhounds, who won their first five games of the season before dropping back-to-back contests — including a 49-point loss to West Virginia on Monday — improved to 6-2 behind another outstanding game by the second-leading scorer in Division I, guard Dylon Cormier (25.5 ppg).
Cormier (Cardinal Gibbons) led all scorers with 11 points at the half, and finished with 23 points and seven rebounds.
The Cardinals stayed close for much of the first half and went to intermission tied at 39 on a late spurt by point guard Bryson Fonville.
The Greyhounds shot out of the locker room, though, and opened on a 12-2 run.
Navy 79, Citadel 74: The host Midshipmen went on a 16-4 run to take a 15-point lead at the break, then held off the Bulldogs.
With the win, Navy (5-3) completed a sweep of its three-game homestand. The Bulldogs (3-7) lost their third in a row.
Navy's Tilman Dunbar scored a career-high and game-high 28 points. Worth Smith added 17 for the Mids.
Binghamton 74, Mount St. Mary's 70: The host Mount (2-7) rallied in the final seven minutes behind Julian Norfleet's game-high 26 points but lost to the Bearcats (2-6). The loss was the first in nine games at home.
Duquesne 94, UMBC 88: Chase Palmer had a season-high 27 points, but the visiting Retrievers (3-6) lost to the Dukes (3-3).
Derrick Colter scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half, leading a furious fast break for Duquesne.
Tra'Vaughn White led Duquesne with 22 points and had five assists. The Dukes' Jerry Jones, who entered the game with two points this season, scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half. His 3-pointer with 7:39 left in the half broke a tie and ignited a 9-0 run that gave the Dukes the lead for good.
Stevenson 79, Hood 76: Chris Cook (18 points) made a layup with five seconds left, but the Blazers (2-2, 0-1 Commonwealth Conference) missed on a 3-point attempt with two seconds left in a narrow loss.
Christian Roberts had 17 points for the Mustangs (5-1, 2-1).
St. Mary's 57, Salisbury 48: Nick LaGuerre scored a game-high 22 points and the visiting Seahawks (4-1, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference) closed the game on a 24-10 run to beat the Sea Gulls (2-3).
Stevenson 61, Hood 35: The Mustangs (3-3) limited the host Blazers (1-4) to eight points in the first half.
Mary Washington 85, Frostburg State 53: The host Bobcats (1-4, 0-1 CAC) kept the game close in the opening five minutes, but the Eagles (4-1, 1-0) slowly pulled away and built a 17-point halftime lead.
Cabrini 87, Notre Dame (Md.) 27: The host Gators (0-5) were outscored 45-12 in the first half by the Cavaliers (5-1).
