Robert Olson scored a game-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Loyola men's basketball team past visiting Boston University, 69-56, on Sunday, giving the Greyhounds 20 victories in a single season for the first time since 1948-49.
The Greyhounds (20-7) shot 71percent from the field in the second half en route to their 20th win of the season in their final regular-season home game.
Loyola ended a two-game losing streak and held the Terriers (14-15) to just 37 percent shooting.
For the Greyhounds, Dylon Cormier (Cardinal Gibbons) scored 14 points, and Justin Drummond added 12 and Erik Etherly 11 and a team-high six rebounds. Olson also had four rebounds and tied Anthony Winbush for the team high with three assists. Loyola outrebounded the Terriers 36-34.

Next up for Loyola is a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup at Rider on Friday at 7 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
Women
Hofstra 69, Towson 66: Nicole Capurso made a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left to give the Pride(18-8, 10-5 Colonial Athletic Association) a win at home over the Tigers (16-10, 7-8).
Despite 20 points and eight rebounds from senior guard Deree Fooks, Towson saw its four-game winning streak end. The Tigers could not find an answer for Shante Evans, who finished with 29 points and 20 rebounds.
Iona 72, Loyola 65: The Gaels held off a Greyhounds rally and held on for the win at home behind 17 second-half points from Damika Martinez. Loyola (13-14, 9-7 MAAC) was led by 19 points apiece from senior Miriam McKenzie (Oakland Mills) and junior Katie Sheahin.
Iona (11-16, 7-9) had lost seven in a row, while the Greyhounds had won six.
Hartford 66, UMBC 54: The host Hawks were led by a game-high 18 points from Amber Bepko and 16 points and 11 rebounds from Ruthanne Doherty.
Retrievers freshman Lauren Chase of Bowie had a team-high 15 points in the loss.
