State: UMBC men are BU's 7th straight victim, 83-48

Darryl Partin scored 17 points and host Boston University extended its winning streak to seven Tuesday with an 83-48 win over UMBC in men's basketball.

In the first half, the Terriers went on a 10-0 run and outrebounded the Retrievers 24-11. Chase Plummer had 17 points for UMBC (2-6, 3-17). Boston University opened the second half with a 10-2 run and led 49-24 with 16:10 left.

Monday

Bethune-Cookman 67, UMES 55: The host Hawks (4-14, 1-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) were held to 19 points in the first half, and a second-half surge proved too little and too late.

Honor

Capital Athletic Conference: Frostburg State senior guard Troy Dockett was named Player of the Week for the second time this season. Dockett leads the country in 3-point field-goal percentage, connecting on 50.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
