State lacrosse: Carlson's five goals send Terps men past Villanova

Jay Carlson scored five goals as top-ranked Maryland outlasted host Villanova, 10-7, on Saturday night.
The game was tied with 8 minutes, 49seconds left in the third quarter before the Terps (6-0) rattled off three straight goals. After a pair of goals by Villanova (1-5), Mike Chanenchuk and Carlson each scored in the fourth to seal the Terps' win.
No. 14 Loyola 13, Air Force 7: Led by Nikko Pontrello's four goals and two assists, the Greyhounds (5-2) beat the Falcons (4-4) at the Whitman's Sampler Mile High Classic in Denver.
Loyola won 15 of 24 faceoffs and collected 36 ground balls.
No. 18 Drexel 14, Mount St. Mary's 11: Brett Schmidt scored five goals, but the visiting Mountaineers (4-5) couldn't hang on against the Dragons (5-2).
