Sept. 18-20: The Huk Performance Fishing-CCA Red Trout Catch & Release Tournament will be hosted by Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield. The Coastal Conservation Association Maryland event attracts light tackle, fly and kayak anglers, and this year a live bait category has been added. The tournament promotes sustainable, catch-and-release fishing methods in which anglers photograph their catch for digital submittals in lieu of a weigh-in. The Red Trout tournament was founded in 2013 to draw attention to the value of redfish and speckled trout that have been making a comeback in the Chesapeake Bay the past four years. For more information, go to ccamd.org or call tournament coordinator Rick Elyar at 410-977-3782.
