Rogers' hat trick lifts No. 7 Notre Dame over Hofstra in OT, 6-5

Sean Rogers completed his hat trick with the game-winner in overtime as the No.7 Notre Dame men's lacrosse team beat host Hofstra, 6-5, on Saturday at James M. Shuart Stadium.
Notre Dame (3-1) trailed 4-3 late in regulation when Jim Marlatt evened the score with 1:02 left. Marlatt had two goals and two assists on the day. Rogers gave the Irish a 5-4 lead with just 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter. His three goals matched a career-high. Rogers also had an assist.
Hofstra (2-3) forced overtime when Torin Varn scored with four seconds left in regulation. The Pride had the first possession in overtime, but an Ian Braddishshot was saved by goaltender John Kemp, who had eight saves for the Irish.
No. 4 Massachusetts 14, Hartford 5: A pair of hat tricks by Art Kell and Colin Fleming paced the offense, while the Minutemen (6-0) defense held an opponent to less than 10 goals for a sixth straight time.
Will Manny had a pair of goals and four assists for the Minutemen.Hartford (1-4) was led by Kevin O'Shea, who had a pair of goals.
