Coming up: Vs. Cornell, Sunday, noon, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Comment: The Terps own a 14-3 record against the Big Red, but the two teams have split the past two meetings, both of which came in the NCAA tournament (2013 and 2014). With two goals and one assist in Sunday’s 14-11 win against Robert Morris in the first round, fifth-year senior midfielder Tim Rotanz extended his team-high points streak to 30 games.
No. 5 seed Johns Hopkins (12-4)
Coming up: Vs. No. 4 seed Duke, Sunday, 2:30 p.m., Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Comment: The Blue Jays lead the overall series, 12-7, but the Blue Devils have won four of seven games in the NCAA tournament. Junior attackman Kyle Marr (55 points), senior midfielder Joel Tinney (52) and senior attackman Shack Stanwick (51) are the first trio to compile 50 points in the same season since Ryan Brown (77), Wells Stanwick (71) and Shack Stanwick (51) did so in 2015. Tinney’s 30 assists this season are just two shy of the Johns Hopkins record for single-season assists by a midfielder (Kevin Boland had 32 in 2004).
Comment: The Greyhounds have won all three meetings against the Bulldogs, including a 14-13 overtime win in the 1990 NCAA tournament semifinals. Freshman attackman Kevin Lindley has scored 12 goals on 14 shots in his past three starts and ranks fourth in Division I in shooting percentage at .536 (37 goals on 69 shots).
