Albany leapfrogged Maryland for the No. 2 ranking in the latest Maverik Inside Lacrosse media poll thanks to a 15-3 pummeling of then-No. 7 Syracuse on Saturday, and Nanticoke played a significant role in that victory. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound rookie scored a game-high five goals, including four in a third quarter during which the Great Danes stretched a 4-1 lead at halftime into an 11-2 advantage after 15 minutes of play. Nanticoke showcased his speed in getting past defenders, his strength in backing down defenders, and his shooting prowess with a bounce shot off the turf. Named the America East’s Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, Nanticoke is the first freshman in program history to score five goals in his college debut since at least 2004.

Albany men’s lacrosse overtakes Maryland for No. 2, and Villanova and Army West Point move into top 10 of the latest Maverik Inside Lacrosse media poll.
