Kemp validated his presence on the Tewaaraton Watch List with his performance Saturday. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound goalkeeper tied a career best with 14 saves, propelling the No. 5 Fighting Irish to a 7-3 victory over then-No. 1 Duke. Kemp, who was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week, last made 14 stops in the team's 12-7 win against the Blue Devils in last year's season opener. Kemp, who finished 2011 second in the country in goals-against average (6.60) and fourth in save percentage (.602), was voted as the Big East's preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
