Strength of schedule for the seven local Division I men’s lacrosse teams

The Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse team leads the seven area programs in number of opponents on the 2018 schedule that qualified for last year’s NCAA Division I tournament. And perhaps not coincidentally, the Blue Jays have the highest strength of schedule among the local schools.

Based on its 2018 schedule, Johns Hopkins — which crashed hard to Duke in the first round of last year’s postseason — will face 13 teams that combined for a .649 win percentage in 2017. That group, which includes seven opponents that qualified for last spring’s tournament, totaled a 135-73 record.

Maryland, the reigning 2017 national champion, will face six opponents that advanced to the postseason. But the Terps’ overall SOS of .607 (122-79) is weaker than the Blue Jays’.

Here are the numbers for all seven area Division I programs.
